Swiss-headquartered resources company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced that in the second quarter of the current year its overall iron ore pellet production decreased by 2.9 percent quarter on quarter to 2.51 million mt.
Meanwhile, during the first six months of the current year, Ferrexpo's iron ore pellet production amounted to 5.09 million mt, down 1.2 percent year on year. In the first half of the year, the company's pellet production from its own raw materials decreased by 1.1 percent to 5.08 million mt, while its pellet production from third party concentrate declined by 32.7 percent to 21,550 mt, both compared to the same period of 2017.
Ferrexpo stated that the decrease in pellet production in the first half of this year was due to a planned 65-day pellet line refurbishment.
