Ferrexpo's iron ore pellet output up 12 percent in Q4 from Q3

Swiss-headquartered iron ore miner Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced that in the fourth quarter of 2017 its overall iron ore pellet production increased by 12 percent quarter on quarter to 2.79 million mt.

In the fourth quarter, Ferrexpo's pellet production from its own raw materials increased by 10.9 percent compared to the previous quarter, amounting to 2.76 million mt, while its pellet production from third party concentrate stood at 28,020 mt.

During the full year 2017, Ferrexpo's overall iron ore pellet production decreased by 6.8 percent year on year to 10.44 million mt. The company’s pellet production from its own raw materials declined by six percent to 10.39 million mt, while its pellet production from third party concentrate went down by 65.3 percent to 49,560 mt, both compared to 2016. 

Meanwhile, in 2017, Ferrexpo’s sales volume was 10.4 million mt compared to 11.7 million mt in 2016 due to decreased production levels.
