Russian mining and steelmaking group Evraz has announced that it is planning to increase pipe production from its North American operations.

Production by Evraz of large diameter pipes for pipelines in North America is expected to increase by 28 percent from 364,000 mt in 2014 to 465,000 mt in 2015 to meet the growing demand. Evraz also said that, regarding rail operations, it aims to run at full capacity to support the upgrade of rail infrastructure in the region.

The company said that strong growth in large diameter pipe demand is expected on the back of natural gas exploration projects and oil logistics cost optimization in North America.
