European commercial vehicle registrations up 12.2 percent in April

In April this year, new commercial vehicle registrations in the European Union (EU) increased by 12.2 percent year on year to 169,746 units, rising for the 20th consecutive month on year-on-year basis, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). Looking at the major markets, growth was sustained across all commercial vehicle segments. In April this year, the UK (+22.8 percent), Spain (+18.5 percent), Italy (+ nine percent), Germany (+ seven percent) and France (+1.4 percent) posted increases, all on year-on-year basis.

In the first four months of this year, new commercial vehicle registrations in the EU totaled 671,701 units, up 13 percent on year-on-year basis. Spain (+35.2 percent), the UK (+23.9 percent), Italy (+7.6 percent) and Germany (+7.1 percent) recorded increases, while registrations in France remained almost stable.
