EU drops AD investigation into stainless bars originating in India

On March 9, the European Union (EU) terminated the antidumping (AD) proceeding concerning imports of certain stainless steel bars originating in India.

The complaint which led to the proceeding was lodged on February 15, 2010 by the European Federation of Iron and Steel Industries (EUROFER), which represents more than 25 percent of total EU production of certain stainless steel bars. The investigation was launched on April 4, 2010.

By its letter of November 23, 2010 to the Commission, EUROFER formally withdrew its complaint regarding the antidumping proceeding. 

Certain stainless steel bars currently fall within CN codes 7222 20 21, 7222 20 29, 7222 20 31, 7222 20 39, 7222 20 81 and 7222 20 89.
