India’s Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) has marked its maiden entry into retail sales of stainless steel rebars on a trial basis in the northern state of Punjab, a company official said on Tuesday, April 21.
Branded as “Jindal Infinity’, the company’s retail venture aims at bringing advanced construction solutions to end-consumers, the official said.
‘‘Stainless steel rebars have proven their relevance globally in demanding environments, and through this endeavour, we aim to bring these advanced solutions closer to the Indian consumer. This is aligned with our larger vision of supporting a quality-first, safer and more resilient environment,” JSL managing director Abhyuday Jindal stated.
“Jindal Infinity’ stainless steel rebars can be used in critical infrastructure applications such as coastal developments, metros and real estate. These rebars have significantly higher corrosion resistance, including a higher chloride threshold, which enhances durability in aggressive environments. They have a high load-bearing capacity, greater tensile strength and superior seismic performance due to a higher tension-to-yield strength ratio, enabling better energy absorption under stress,” he said.
Jindal Infinity stainless steel rebars are manufactured from billets cast at the company’s Hisar mill in Haryana state and are further processed into rebars at its Ghaziabad facility, all in the northern region of the country, and form part of the company’s long product portfolio and are used across applications ranging from infrastructure and railways to bridges, highways and real estate
