EISF to double rebar production

Abu Dhabi-based steel producer Emirates Iron and Steel Factory (EISF) disclosed plans to increase its reinforcing bar production to 1 million tons by the end of this year. In order to increase capacity, EISF will invest AED500 million ($136 million) in a new unit. EISF's existing unit carries a design capacity of 500'000 tons of rebar. The new unit will allow EISF to double its current rebar capacity.
