EEC starts AD probe on corrosion-resistant pipe imports from China

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), the executive body of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) which includes Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Armenia, has announced that it has started an antidumping (AD) duty investigation on imports of hot rolled seamless pipes of corrosion-resistant steel from China.

The investigation was launched following the application lodged by Russian steel pipe producers, including Volzhsky Pipe Plant and Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plants.

According to the EEC’s statement, currently Ukraine and the EU implement measures on the mentioned products and the goods also affected by the Section 232 duties of the US, which triggered special protective investigations on the same products by the EU and Turkey, resulting in the closure of a number of markets for Chinese goods and the possibility of further increasing the exports of the aforementioned products from China in to the EEU markets.

The products in question currently fall under HS Codes 7304 49 100 0, 7304 49 930 1, 7304 49 930 9, 7304 49 950 1, 7304 49 950 9, 7304 49 990 0.
