DOC to continue AD, CVD duties on SSSS from various countries

On June 1, 2004, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) initiated and the US International Trade Commission (ITC) instituted sunset reviews of the antidumping duty orders on stainless steel sheet and strip in coils imported from France, Germany, Japan, Italy, South Korea, Mexico, Taiwan, and the UK, and the countervailing duties on the said goods imported from Italy and South Korea. On July 18, 2005, the ITC determined that revocation of the existing countervailing and antidumping duty orders on stainless steel sheet and strip in coils from Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico and Taiwan would likely lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to the US market, but that revocation of the existing antidumping duty orders on the same product from France and United Kingdom would not. As a result of the ITC's decision, the DOC decided to continue the existing orders on imports of stainless steel sheet and strip in coils from Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico and Taiwan, and to revoke the existing duties on the same product from France and the UK.
