DOC initiates CVD reviews on certain sheets and plates from Italy
On May 11, 1999, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) published a countervailing duty order on
stainless steel
plate in coils imported from
Italy. Moreover, on August 6, 1999, the DOC published a countervailing duty order on
stainless steel sheet and strip in coils imported from the same country.
On December 2, 2005, US producers Allegheny Ludlum Corporation and AK Steel Corp filed a request for a countervailing duty changed circumstances review for both of the product groups imported from
Italy. In their petition, the US producers demanded that the DOC revoke the countervailing duty orders on both products imported from
Italy.
In response, the DOC decided to initiate changed circumstances review of the countervailing duty orders on
stainless steel
plate in coils, and
stainless steel sheet and strip in coils imported from
Italy.
Interested parties are requested to comment on the initiation of the reviews.
