Danieli awarded for reconstruction of OJSC’s meltshop

Russian OJSC Metallurgical Plant awarded Danieli Centro Met which is a division of the Italian steel equipment maker Danieli Corp., for the reconstruction of its meltshop. According to the contract, Danieli is required to construct a new EAF and a twin-tank vacuum degasser which will be connected with the existing ladle furnace that has started operation last June. Upon completion of reconstruction, melt shop will have an annual production capacity of 700'000 mt consisting of a wide range of specialty steels; such as low and medium carbon or alloy, spring steel products. Production is planned to commence in the second quarter of 2005.
