Corus will close its tube mill

Anglo-Dutch steel maker Corus announced that its tube mill in Troisdorf, near Cologne in Germany will be closed due to financial losses. The company is going to reduce the production at its tube mill in Mannstaedt work as soon as possible and this will cause 140 job cuts. The hot rolled special sections mill in the Mannstaedt work also impacts from the weak economic conditions. However, Corus will apply the restructure plans to the special sections mill in order to save the remaining activity of cutting employee costs by 25%.
