Colombian crude steel production declines in March

Colombian crude steel production in March dropped 27 percent, year-on-year, the nation’s Committee of Steel Producers (CPA) said this week.

According to CPA, local crude steel output in March fell 16.5 percent, month-on-month.

As for Q1, Colombian crude steel production reached 275,515 mt, 13.6 percent down, year-on-year.

Long finished steel output in the third month of the year was 123,012 mt, 1.5 percent up, year-on-year, but nearly 1 percent down, month-on-month.

As for the three-month period from January to March, Colombian long finished steel output totaled 352,646 mt, 5.1 percent up, year-on-year.
