Colakoglu Metalurji, one of the key flat steel producers in Turkey, is planning to shut down its hot rolling line for scheduled maintenance works. According to the preliminary information, the works will take 10 days and are to start by mid-April, though the exact dates have not been disclosed yet.

Company’s hot rolling line has an annual production capacity of 3 million mt and the maintenance period will result in certain supply shortages in the market. Along with the ongoing repairs at Russia’s MMK, which is one of the key HRC suppliers to Turkey, the market pricing may be further supported by limited allocation, SteelOrbis understands.
