Coal mines in Russia’s Kuzbass region increase output in Jan-Sept

According to Russia's Central Dispatching Department of the Fuel and Energy sector, mining companies from Kuzbass, Russia's biggest coal-mining region, produced 17.5 million mt of coal in September this year, up 3.6 percent year on year, including 4.8 million mt of coking coal, compared to 4.4 million mt in September 2013. In the September this year, coal mining companies in Kuzbass shipped 17.5 million mt of coal, including 9.4 million mt for export.

In the January-September period this year, mining companies in Kuzbass produced 154.9 million mt of coal, up 3.2 percent compared to the same period of 2013, including 43.8 million mt of coking coal, compared to 43.1 million mt in January-September 2013. In the first nine months this year, coal mining companies in Kuzbass shipped 153.6 million mt of coal, including 89.2 million mt for export.
