Chongqing Steel ranks first in China for shipbuilding plate output in Q1

The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) has issued the shipbuilding plate output data for the top Chinese producers in the first quarter this year.
 
Sichuan Province-based Chongqing Iron and Steel Group Company (CISC) ranked first in terms of shipbuilding output in China in the first quarter this year with 499,000 mt, becoming the biggest shipbuilding producer in China for the first time. Hunan Province-based Xiangtan Iron and Steel Group Company (XISC) ranked second with 381,700 mt, while steel giant Baosteel ranked third with 315,700 mt. Ansteel, which ranked first in 2011, regressed to fourth in the first quarter, with 312,000 mt.
