Laiwu Steel produces 6 mm steel plate for shipbuilding

Shandong Province-based Chinese steelmaker Laiwu Iron and Steel Corporation (Laiwu Steel) has successfully developed production of steel plate for shipbuilding with ultra-thin specification of 6 mm × 2,600 mm, as announced by China Metallurgical News. Product performance and quality were found in inspections to be in line with the required standards. 
 
In 2011, Laiwu Steel has been focusing on developing steel plates of thickness less than 10 mm, also producing 8 mm steel plate in large quantity.
