Chinese steelmaker Chongqing Iron and Steel (Group) Co. (CISC) has stated that in the first five months of the current year it made significant progress in the development of new steel plate products.
In the given period, Chongqing Steel developed production of 80 mm E36 grade shipbuilding plate, 80 mm Q345R grade pressure vessel plate, 80 mm 15CrMoR pressure vessel plate, 80 mm 09MnNiDR pressure vessel plate, as well as 60 mm Q370R grade pressure vessel and boiler plate, 70 mm E40, E460 and E47 grades of high-strength shipbuilding plate, 100 mm Q370qD/E and Q420qD/E grades of shipbuilding plate, and 40 mm Q550D grade medium plate. Meanwhile, Chongqing Steel's 4100 mm heavy plate production line developed production of 8 mm ultra-thin sheet of width up to 3800 mm.
In the January-May period, Chongqing Steel achieved a total production of 832,000 mt of shipbuilding plate.
