China’s Xinyu’s new blast furnace
China's Xinyu Iron and Steel Company has commissioned a new blast furnace at its plant in the Jiangxi province on May 2, 2003 at a cost of Yuan 350 million (approx.$42.3 million). The blast furnace has an annual production capacity of 882'000 tons of pig iron. Xinyu has seven blast furnaces with a total volume of 1'800 m3. The company expects to increase the production of pig iron to 2.4 million tons and crude steel to 3.5 million tons in 2004.China's Xinyu's new blast furnace
