Chinas steel output rises in October
Chinas crude steel
production rose 4.33 percent month on month to 31.6729 million metric tons in October, according to government statistics.
In addition to crude steel,
pig iron out rose 6 percent month on month to 29.7166 million metric tons and finished steel products rose 2.64 percent month on month to 33.1045 million metric tons.
In year-on-year terms, crude steel rose 18.88 percent,
pig iron rose 22.49 percent and finished steel 23.65 percent.
In the first ten months of this year, the cumulative output of
pig iron was 269.6188 million metric tons,up 30.40 percent year on year. Crude steel output rose 26.46 percent to 286.7928 million metric tons, and finished steel output rose 25.65 percent to 301.9169 million metric tons.
Also during the first ten months,
China produced 154.5607 million metric tons of long products, up 25.2837 million metric tons year on year. Long products saw their share in total finished products drop 2.61 percentage points year on year to 51.19 percent.
Flat products accounted for 117.1116 million metric tons of total finished output, up 29.6179 million metric tons compared to the prior year. Flat products gained a 2.38 percentage point share in total finished output to reach 38.79 percent.
Pipe and tube products rose 4.5178 million metric tons year on year to 21.059 million metric tons.
Pipe and tube products accounted for 6.98 percent of total finished output, up 0.09 percentage points year on year.
