In the January-November period of the current year, China’s import volumes of scrap amounted to 180,000 mt, down 85.3 percent year on year as imports stopped in July this year due to new regulations, according to the monthly import and export data issued by the Chinese customs authorities.

As in October, China did not import any scrap in November either and this situation is expected to remain unchanged in the future, and so China will continue to be a pig iron importer in 2020.
