In the January-October period this year, China exported 5.434 million mt of metallurgical coke, down 30 percent year on year, up 4.6 percentage points compared to the percentage decrease recorded in the January-September period.

In October alone, China exported 270,000 mt of metallurgical coke, down 31.5 percent month on month, while decreasing by 67.9 percent year on year, up 42.2 percentage points from the year-on-year decrease rate in September. Customs clearance in China has slowed down for imported coal products, and so more domestic production coke is being consumed in the local market.
