China’s coal imports decrease by 13 percent in January-July 2025

In the January-July period this year, China’s coal imports amounted to 257.305 million mt, down 13.0 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities.

In July alone, China’s coal imports reached 35.609 million mt, up 7.8 percent month on month, while down 22.9 percent year on year.
