China posts record average daily crude steel output in April

On May 9, the Beijing-based China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) announced that in April China achieved a record average daily crude steel output for a given month, posting a one percent month-on-month increase to 1.931 million mt.

The CISA also stated that its member companies achieved an average daily crude steel output of 1.644 million mt in the last 10 days of April this year, up 1.2 percent compared with the daily figure for mid-April (April 11-20). Meanwhile, China's overall average daily crude steel output totaled 1.941 million mt in the last 10 days of April, up 1.9 percent compared with the average daily figure for mid-April.
