The Chilean Steel Institute (ICHA) will hold a meeting on July 5 to discuss the use of local NCh203 steel norm for structural buildings. The event is aimed at civil construction and architecture professionals working in segments like mining, industry, trade commerce, energy, among others.
The NCh203 steel norm sets the requisites for the steel used in structural buildings, and the regulation dates back 2006, according to ICHA.
ICHA held last year a meeting with 16 professionals to implement changes to the regulation. A committee was created at the time to work in four major normative groups, including steel for buildings, steel for cold-formed sections, high resistance steel for improved corrosion and steel with improved welding.
