Capital Iron & Steel announces Q3 results

According to recent market reports, Beijing based Capital Iron & Steel has announced its net profit as Yuan 281 million (approx. $33.95 million) for the third quarter of 2003 with a 76.3% increase when compared to same period last year. The company's turnover also showed an increase of 27.6% and reached to Yuan 4.04 billion. In the first nine months of 2003, pig iron production amounted to 3.1 million tons, down by 3.4% compared to corresponding period last year while crude steel production was up by 5.7% to 3.8 million tons. Moreover, finished steel production reached to 2.8 million tons with a 2.7% increase.
