Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending December 4, the
US rig count decreased by seven to 737, after a 13-rig drop the previous week. The gas rig count increased by three to 192, whereas the oil rig count decreased by 10 to 545. The overall rig count is still down by 1,183 from 1,920 rigs during the same week a year ago.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by seven in the week ending December 4 to 177, after an 18-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 245 from 422 rigs during the same week a year ago.
