According to Statistics Canada, total new motor vehicle sales in September totaled 190,581 units, reflecting an increase of 1.8 percent month-on-month and an increase of 7.6 percent year-on-year. By value, Canadian vehicle sales in September totaled $7.66 billion, compared to $7.49 billion in August and $6.94 billion in September 2016.
Canadian sales of vehicles manufactured in North America totaled 143,230 units in September at a value of $5.86 billion, while sales of vehicles manufactured overseas totaled 47,351 units at a value of $1.79 billion.
