Canadian and US rig counts falter

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending November 7 the US rig count decreased by four to 1,925 following a two-rig increase the week before. The gas rig count increased by 10 to 356, whereas the oil rig count decreased by 14 to 1,568. The overall rig count is up by 171 from 1,754 rigs during the same week a year ago.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by 19 in the week ending November 7 to reach 410 following a three-rig increase the previous week. The Canadian rig count is up by 32 from 378 rigs during the same week a year ago.
