Brazil's motor vehicle output in October this year increased by 1.7 percent from the previous month to 265,600 units, according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). Brazil's motor vehicle output was down by 9.5 percent in October from the same month last year.
According to the report, in the January-October period of the current year Brazil's motor vehicle production rose 1.9 percent from the same period last year, totaling 2.87 million units.
Total new motor vehicle registrations in Brazil amounted to 280,600 units in October this year, decreasing 10 percent from September this year and down 7.5 percent compared to the same month last year. 25.3 percent of this figure consisted of imported new vehicles.
Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle exports in October this year totaled 52,249 units, with a 17 percent of increase from the previous month and up 2.2 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports came to $1.4 billion, increasing by 2.6 percent month on month and up 8.2 percent compared to the same month of 2010. In the first 10 months of this year Brazil's motor vehicle exports amounted to 438,215 units, up 4.1 percent compared to the corresponding period last year. The revenue generated by these exports came to $12.77 billion, increasing by 21.3 percent compared to the same period of 2010.
