Brazilian wire rod exports decline in May

Wire rod exports from Brazil reached 13,600 mt in May, against 36,600 mt in April, according to customs data.

The exports in May were from ArcelorMittal (13,000 mt at $739/mt) and Simec (600 mt at $978/mt), FOB conditions.

The destinations were the Dominican Republic (5,500 mt at $671/mt), South American countries (5,400 mt at $764/mt) and the US (2,700 mt at $952/mt), all FOB conditions.

Meanwhile, Brazil imported 15,700 mt of wire rod in May, against 37,500 mt in April. The imports were from China (10,500 mt at $625/mt), Russia (4,900 mt at $644/mt) and Germany (300 mt at $1,100/mt), also FOB conditions.
