Brazil requesting WTO consultation from EU

Brazil's government asked for formal trade consulations in the WTO with the EU to question the legality of tariffs of up to 26% on certain steel products. The two products most affected include tinplate from CSN and special steel bars from Villares Group. The foreign ministry in Brazil indicated their purpose is to discuss the possibility that safeguards which have been imposed might not conform to EU's international obligations within the international legal framework.
