Brazilian mining regulator, the National Mining Agency (ANM), has delayed once again its deadline to respond to requests from miners and iron ore producers.

Earlier this year, ANM delayed decisions, including response to appeals or approvals from miners and iron ore producers, for 40 days, from March to April.

This week, it said it will extend the regulator’s deadline to address miners’ issues between March 20 and June 30, due to the spread of Covid-19, as Brazil became the epicenter for the pandemic in Latin America.

ANM said the decision doesn’t apply for the monitoring of dams, including iron ore dams.
