Borusan Boru increases investments in 2004

Borusan Boru, one of the first five steel pipe producers in Europe, plans to increase investments in this year. As reported by SteelOrbis, Borusan Boru in March 2004 merged with Mannesmann Boru. Through the merger, production capacity of Borusan Boru increased from 400'000 tons to 750'000 tons. Moreover, total sales turnover of the company is expected to exceed $300 million. According to statement made by Borusan Boru, the company plans to increase its market share in specialty pipes used in automotive sector in 2004. Moreover, the company will focus on exports, especially to US, Middle East and South Africa this year. The investments of the company in natural gas are also stated to be continuing in 2004.
