Baotou Steel sees sharp export increase in H1

SteelOrbis Shanghai In the first half of the year, China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region based Baotou Iron & Steel Group (Baotou Steel) saw a dramatic expansion in commercial steel and alloy exports. From January 1 to June 30, Baotou Steel's finished steel exports totaled 411,500 mt; 161,500 mt over the planned quantity, with $166 million cumulative sales revenue. Hot rolled coil and bull rod are the main finished export products, totaling 294,800 mt for the six months, up 62 percent and 154 percent year on year respectively. In addition, the exports of ferroalloy products reached 1,755 mt, with $1.44 million sales revenue. Baotou Steel's products are mainly exported to 12 countries and regions, among which South Korea accounts for 35.9 percent, Europe 27.86 percent, North America 1.05 percent and South East Asia 35.19 percent.
