Azovstal reports production results for Jan-Sep 2006

According to the preliminary results for the January-September 2006 period, the Ukrainian steelmaker Azovstal raised its production of finished steel products by 0.5 percent year on year to 3.9 million metric tons. During the period in question, the enterprise registered a decrease in its production of crude steel by 0.3 percent to 4.36 million metric tons, a drop in pig iron production by 0.4 percent to 3.7 million metric tons and in agglomerate by 7.6 percent to 1.5 million metric tons. In September 2006, Azovstal produced 455,000 metric tons of finished steel products, 534,000 metric tons of crude steel, 462,000 metric tons of pig iron and 159,000 metric tons of agglomerate.
