Average HRB 400 rebar price in China increases in mid-February

In mid-February (Feb. 11-20) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were recorded at RMB 3,562.6/mt ($519.3/mt), RMB 3,638.1/mt ($530.3/mt), RMB 3,705.3/mt ($540.1/mt), RMB 3,995.6/mt ($582.4/mt), RMB 4,333.2/mt ($631.7/mt) and RMB 3,651.1/mt ($532.2/mt), up RMB 207.5/mt ($30.2/mt), RMB 175.6/mt ($25.6/mt), RMB 130.0/mt ($19/mt), RMB 87.2/mt ($12.7/mt), RMB 135.7/mt ($19.8/mt) and RMB 142.3/mt ($20.7/mt), rising by 6.2 percent, 5.1 percent, 3.6 percent, 2.2 percent, 3.2 percent and 4.1 percent, respectively, all compared to prices in early February (Feb. 1-10) this year, as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics on February 26.
