Average HRB 400 rebar price in China down 2.9 percent in mid-Jan

In mid-January (January 11-20) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipe and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were recorded at RMB 2,611.3/mt ($421.2/mt), RMB 2,708.4/mt ($436.8/mt), RMB 2,827.3/mt ($456.0/mt), RMB 2,970.5/mt ($479.1/mt), RMB 3,678.8/mt ($593.4/mt) and RMB 2,947.4/mt ($475.4/mt), down RMB 77.9/mt ($12.6mt), RMB 73.9/mt ($11.9/mt), RMB 100.4/mt ($16.2/mt), RMB 110.5/mt ($17.8/mt), RMB 24.8/mt ($4.0/mt) and RMB 63.0/mt ($10.2/mt), indicating respective decreases of 2.9 percent, 2.6 percent, 3.4 percent, 3.6 percent, 0.7 percent and 2.1 percent compared to prices in early January (January 1-10), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
