In late August (August 21-31) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were respectively recorded at RMB 4,513.4/mt ($661.8/mt), RMB 4,651.7/mt ($682.1/mt), RMB 4,521.9/mt ($663.1/mt), RMB 4,464.6/mt ($654.6/mt), RMB 5,404.1/mt ($792.4/mt) and RMB 4,545.3/mt ($666.5/mt), increasing by RMB 56.0/mt ($8.2/mt), RMB 43.4/mt ($6.4/mt), RMB 46.8/mt ($6.9/mt), RMB 50.6/mt ($7.4/mt), RMB 64.4/mt ($9.4/mt) and RMB 68.6/mt ($10.1/mt), i.e., up 1.3 percent, 0.9 percent, 1.0 percent, 1.1 percent, 1.2 percent and 1.5 percent, respectively, compared to prices in mid-August (August 11-20), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
