In early April (April 1-10) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were respectively recorded at RMB 3,798.4/mt ($604.4/mt), RMB 3,935.6/mt ($626.2/mt), RMB 4,200.5/mt ($668.3/mt), RMB 4,070.0/mt ($647.6/mt) and RMB 4,318.3/mt ($687.1/mt), up RMB 46.3/mt ($7.4/mt), RMB 48.9/mt ($7.8/mt), RMB 20.5/mt ($3.3/mt), RMB 43.2/mt ($6.9/mt) and RMB 3.1/mt ($0.5/mt), i.e., increasing by 1.2 percent, 1.3 percent, 0.5 percent, 1.1 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively, compared to prices in late March (March 21-31), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics on April 16.
In the given period, the average price in China of 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes was recorded at RMB 5,265.2/mt ($837.7/mt), down by RMB 5.8/mt ($0.92/mt) or 0.1 percent compared to the average price in late March (March 21-31).
