In early March (March 1-10) this year, the average prices in
China of 16-25 mm HRB 400
rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium
plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless
pipe and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were recorded at RMB 2,433.6/mt ($388.8/mt), RMB 2,479.2/mt ($396.1/mt), RMB 2,604.7/mt ($416.1/mt), RMB 2,691.5/mt ($430.0/mt), RMB 3,593.7/mt ($574.1/mt) and RMB 2,780.2/mt ($444.1/mt), down RMB 43.4/mt ($6.9mt), RMB 81.5/mt ($13.1/mt), RMB 9.5/mt ($1.5/mt), RMB 34.8/mt ($5.6/mt), RMB 11.5/mt ($1.8/mt) and RMB 18.5/mt ($3.0/mt), indicating respective decreases of 1.8 percent, 3.2 percent, 0.4 percent, 1.3 percent, 0.3 percent and 0.7 percent compared to prices in late February (February 20-28), as announced by
China's National Bureau of Statistics on March 16.
