Average HRB 400 rebar price in China down 1.9 percent in mid-May

In mid-May (May 11-20) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were recorded at RMB 2,379.2/mt ($383.7/mt), RMB 2,441.5/mt ($393.8/mt), RMB 2,510.9/mt ($405.0), RMB 2,594.3/mt ($418.4/mt), RMB 3,480.2/mt ($561.3/mt) and RMB 2,759.4/mt ($445.1/mt), down RMB 45.4/mt ($7.3/mt), RMB 36.7/mt ($5.9/mt), RMB 30.0/mt ($4.8/mt), RMB 36.9/mt ($6.0/mt), RMB 2.7/mt ($0.4/mt) and RMB 11.1/mt ($1.8/mt), decreasing by 1.9 percent, 1.5 percent, 1.2 percent, 1.4 percent, 0.1 percent and 0.4 percent compared to prices in early May (May 1-10), as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics on May 25.
