Average HRB 400 rebar price in China down 0.3 percent in late April

In late April (April 21-30) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were recorded at RMB 2,422.4/mt ($390.7/mt), RMB 2,481.8/mt ($400.3/mt), RMB 2,542.0/mt ($410.0/mt), RMB 3,485.2/mt ($562.1/mt) and RMB 2,775.8/mt ($447.7/mt), down RMB 8.0/mt ($1.3/mt), RMB 12.9/mt ($2.1/mt), RMB 8.5/mt ($1.4/mt), RMB 12.3/mt ($2.0/mt) and RMB 4.7/mt ($0.8/mt), decreasing by 0.3 percent, 0.5 percent, 0.3 percent, 0.4 percent and 0.2 percent compared to prices in mid-April (April 11-20), as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics on May 4.

Meanwhile, the average price of 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet in late April was recorded at RMB 2,603.8/mt ($420.0/mt), up RMB 19.3/mt ($3.1/mt) or 0.7 percent compared to the average price in mid-April (April 11-20).
