Russian steel producer Ashinskiy Metallurgical Works (Ashinskiy) has presented its modernization program for the period up to 2010.

According to the program, Ashinskiy is planning to put a new electric arc furnace (EAF) into operation in 2009, which will allow the mill to increase its steel production capacity to one million metric tons.

In addition, the steelmaker plans to change its raw material structure and to modernize the local rail network in order to facilitate access to its steel producing units.
