Argentinian industrial output in December fell 2.3 percent, year-on- year, according to figures released this week by the nation’s statistics agency, Indec. As for the full year of 2016, Argentina’s industrial production dropped 4.6 percent, year-on- year.
Industrial output at the automotive segment decreased 31.4 percent in December, year-on- year, and declined 8.3 percent in the full year 2016 compared to 2015.
According to Indec’s qualitative survey, which measured the expectancies of the nation’s industrial companies for Q1 2017, on a year-on-year basis, 46.9 percent expect a stable pace for domestic demand in the period, while 28.5 percent foresee an increase and 24.6 percent expect a decrease in domestic demand.
Out of the interviewed exporting companies, 51.7 percent expect a stable Q1 period for exports on a year-on-year analysis. However, 27.5 percent expect an increase and 20.8 percent anticipate a decline in the industry’s exports in the same period.
