Argentina has decided to continue ongoing investigations into imports of seamless and welded steel pipes from China, while declining to apply provisional anti-dumping (AD) duties for the imports of the product.

According to government reports, the probe covers pipes with a diameter equal or inferior to 406.4 mm and a thickness no greater than 12.7mm made under the API 5L/ISO 3183 or similar norms, except stainless steel.

The product subject to the investigation falls under the Mercosur HTS codes 7304.19.00 and 7306.19.00.

Local producers Tenaris Siderca and Siat, also from the Tenaris group, and Tubhier filed a request for AD duties on October 21, 2016. Argentina opened the probe on December 6, 2016.
