ArcelorMittal Poland to reuse waste heat from BF

ArcelorMittal Poland, a subsidiary of Luxembourg-headquartered global steel producer ArcelorMittal, has announced that it will install heat exchangers to recover and reuse waste heat from a blast furnace, as part of its ongoing modernization works of blast furnace No. 2 at its Dąbrowa Górnicza plant.

The project will reduce annual consumption of natural gas and coke by 140 GWh and 10,000 mt respectively and will reduce carbon emissions by around 56,000 mt per year.

The modernization of the given blast furnace will cost over PLN 720 million ($181.78 million), as SteelOrbis previously reported.
