Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that global steel giant ArcelorMittal’s Romania-based subsidiary ArcelorMittal Galati has commissioned and finalized the ramp-up of the new hot leveler, supplied by Danieli, serving its heavy plate mill No. 2.
Danieli stated that the new plate leveler replaced a machine that had been operating for over 30 years, increasing significantly the overall performances in terms of productivity, quality, consistency of flatness in the finished products and operational safety. With 80 percent more leveling power and advanced automation, the new leveler machine ensures also the production of a higher range of thicknesses and qualities for plates used in applications such as energy pipes, shipbuilding and construction.
