Allegheny Technologies reaches agreement with USWA

According to the statement released by Pittsburgh based steel mill Allegheny Technologies Incorporated, the company has recently reached a tentative agreement with the union United Steel Workers of America (USWA) for a labor contract including workers at ATI Allegheny Ludlum and J&L Specialty Steel. The agreement is among the terms of the deal with respect to takeover of J&L Specialty Steel by ATI Allegheny Ludlum. The agreement if ratified will remain in effect by June 30, 2007, replacing the existing agreements for Allegheny Ludlum and J&L Specialty. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, J&L Specialty acquisition is expected to be completed by June 1, 2004.
