42 restriction cases worldwide on Korean steel imports

According to a recent announcement by the Korean Iron and Steel Association, the Korean-made steel products are subject to import restrictions in 11 countries. These countries are namely the US, Canada, the EU, China, Thailand, Taiwan, Argentina Indonesia, Australia, and Poland. Most of these restrictions on Korean steel are anti-dumping duties and safeguard measures, and the rest are countervailing duties. There are currently 42 cases valid against steel products from Korea. The US duties account for almost half of the total duties implemented on imports from Korea. As of the end of last month, 21 restrictions have been imposed by this country, 13 of them being anti-dumping duties, 5 being countervailing and 3 being safeguards. The reports also reveal that Australia is in preparations to file a new anti-dumping case for steel plates from Korea, as well.
